How to read this

  • Official petroleum statistics report import region-share with a 4–6 week lag from the end of the calendar month. The latest month here is the last released month.
  • "Eurasia" = Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan combined; Russia accounts for ~90%+ of Eurasia in every month since mid-2022.
  • For the why-and-how of the shift, read the Russia crude artefact.
  • The import volumes (KT) can be derived from monthly throughput multiplied by region share; see data CSVs.
