Why it matters
The rupee cost of crude is the dollar price multiplied by the exchange rate, divided by 158.987 litres per barrel. At ₹95 per dollar, a $1-per-barrel move changes this input by about ₹0.60 per litre. That is a unit conversion, not a forecast of petrol or diesel prices: freight, refining, product yields, taxes and pricing decisions also matter.
